Everyone has a little Sweden inside of them. I discovered my inner Swede in the 70’s, when Scandinavian design and furniture was so popular. I love the clean lines and simple elegance. Yet there is often an inspirational, magical and subtle creativity in their work. For example, the “blue dot” in the wine glasses, the “Twisted Tower,” and Santa Claus. I did not study Swedish language until just recently. Through the classes, the textbook and our instructor, Christina Kreft-Tengblad, I am learning more and more about Sweden, not just the language, but the people, geography and culture. I have not met a Swede I did not like. I have learned a lot this past two years, and would like to continue. I also enjoy being with all of my fellow students. I am planning to travel to Sweden as soon as I can, and spend as much time there as I can.
